What are amiibo bin files?
Amiibo bin files are, to put it simply, the files that exist in every amiibo figure, chip and amiibo card out there. Think of them like ROM files – you can take a Pokemon game’s ROM and put it into your Game Boy, or into an emulator, or into a reproduction cartridge and it’ll be like the original. Amiibo bin files work the same way – you can put it into an amiibo figure, into an amiibo card or into a Powersaves for amiibo. It’ll function as an original amiibo in each of those formats because it’s just an NTAG215 chip with your amiibo’s data on it.

If you have further questions, read through our complete guide to amiibo bin files to get a better visual of amiibo bin files. Before you use the bin files, see what uses are best for you! We have a guide on every method to make amiibo cards here. If you have more questions, see our category in the top menu!

Sometimes there’s difficulty With Tagmo and certain bin files. Check the Tagmo Guide to Get the Newest Version of the App- if That Doesn’t Work, put the bins in the premade subfolder titled “tagmo”.
Amiibo Bin Files Host Download
THESE FILES ARE NOT HOSTED OR PROVIDED BY AMIIBO DOCTOR. This is the most complete set of amiibo bin files that I am aware of, as of May 2023. Please understand that the anonymous individual who hosts this set of files could probably remove it at any time without warning and Amiibo Doctor probably won’t know about it until we’re told by a user. We have no idea who hosts these files and are not connected to them in any way. By all accounts they are otherwise completely ordinary and safe amiibo bin files and virtually identical to bin file collections you’d find elsewhere online.
By my guess, it appears this is the spiritual successor to the “Amiibo Bin Dump v4” that was floating around the amiibo fanbase recently. If you’re looking for Amiibo Bin Dump v4, v5 or whatever new ones are out there, this is probably your best shot.
We recommend this NTAG215 seller for most amiibo uses.
How do I make and use amiibo bin file backups?
Most people find this video tutorial to be effective for their platform. Please be advised that further consultation with the Amiibo Doctor guides may be necessary.
What are the Locked-Secret and Unfixed-Info bin files?
These two files are the tools to decrypting the amiibo. When combined, they activate a program that decrypts your amiibo – separately, they can’t do anything. You need these for use in Tagmo, but some lesser-known programs might need them as well.
You’ll often also see a “key-retail” bin file. This file is a combined version of the locked-secret and unfixed-info files, but it’s not a substitute for them. Sometimes an app needs key-retail, and sometimes it needs the other two. It’s convenient to keep both on hand.
How can I make amiibo cards with amiibo bin files?
Good question – the specific process depends on the methods available to you. However, there’s a few universal steps regardless of how you choose to make amiibo cards.
You’ll need:
- NTAG215 chips that haven’t been written to
- The specific method you’re going to use to write amiibo cards (almost always a cell phone with NFC)
- Amiibo bin files
The steps are pretty straightforward.
- Open the app and hold up the unwritten NTAG chip to the NFC point on your phone.
- Select “Write Tag” or similarly-named option on your app
- Wait for the phone to write to the NTAG chip
- Scan the chip into your Switch to confirm you wrote the correct amiibo file
That’s pretty much it! There’s a few other uses for amiibo as well, like using them so get villagers in New Horizons or extra equipment in Splatoon, so check amiibo.life to see what they can do!
Where can I get NTAG215 chips for amiibo cards?
We recommend a few specific Amazon sellers for NTAG215 chips. Bear in mind that, while these will all produce amiibo with the same function, the format will make it a bit more or less convenient to use depending on how you intend to use the amiibo. The format determines whether you make an amiibo cardstock (with cardstock), an amiibo coin (with an NTAG disc) or an amiibo sticker (also with an amiibo sticker).

You can buy NTAG chips from a lot of websites, but places like AliExpress charge around the same rates and the shipping takes much, much longer. AliExpress is only good for when you need to buy, say, a hundred thousand chips. And if you need to buy a hundred thousand NTAG215 chips… I don’t wanna know why.

Hello, I’m having problems with my N2 Elite Manager. I’m connected to the internet on my PC and showed the app my tags and banks for Captain Falcon, Pikachu, Lucus etc but they’re all not showing; just saying “Loading, no connection”. Is there a way to fix this?
LikeLike
As far as I’m aware, no – the N2 Elite is notoriously buggy.

I’m getting a Flipper Zero. I heard the NFC tag emulation mode is reliable.

I’ve never heard of that, what is it?

Basically it can emulate anything including credit cards so it is pretty dangerous

Hi there, i’m using the Android Software for the N2 Elite and it still works! The Problem with “Manage Banks” is, that no pictures are shown and the text “No connection” appears. I guess that the pictures and fileinfos are loaded from an internet database, which is offline now (debug the .apk to proof). Some Parts of the context menu are still working like “Delete”. So u can still upload an delete, but you have remember which slot is filled with an .bin file.

Whenever I try to write a tag with TagMo it tells me it failed to decrypt tag data. Is there a fix I you are aware of?

I’ve been having this same problem and as fare as I’m aware there’s no fix 😦

Tagmo use to work. I just downloaded the new series 5 bin files, now when I try to open Tagmo and tap load files, it shows the searching arrow then closes out.

Make sure you’ve updated to the newest version of the APK, and put the files in a folder called “tagmo”

I’m using AmiiBoss and when I try to add the bin file, I get a message that the bin file is the wrong size. Any insight as to how to fix this?
LikeLike
See, this is a problem that I’ve had in the past as well. Unfortunately without other amiibo hardware (i.e. a Powersaves) your only option is to find another bin dump. There’s two valid file sizes for amiibo -532 bytes and 540 bytes. If Amiiboss isn’t taking one, try a dump of the other.
I’m fairly sure that we have a separate dump for the Series 5 bin files on that page, so you might meander over there and see if they’re a different size.

Hey I noticed that the bin file for the smash brothers fighter pack is empty. Was looking to see if that would be added any time soon?

You have to put the bin files on your apple cloud storage and then in ally, hold down on the + button until the options appear and select “import file” or whatever it says regarding import. Then go to where you put the files on your apple drive.
