Assume this is for offline, solo raids. This strategy is ineffective online.
The Fight Ahead
7-Star Tera Raids are designed so that after a few turns of the raid, the raid opponent will be OHKOing everything in front of it thanks to a moveset with great type coverage and a stack of attack boosts. Blaziken is no different. According to Serebii, Blaziken packs Fighting, Flying, Ground, Fire, and Rock-type attacks. There is no type combination that Blaziken does not have at least a neutral type advantage against with one of his moves.
Take note, then, that 7-Star Raiders also calculate the moves they can use that will be most damaging against each individual raider. Unless their raid is pre-scripted to use X move at Y time or with Z HP left, they’ll be attacking you with the most damaging move they can. Blaziken will also wipe your stats twice during the raid – once at 90% HP remaining (which is typically after the first turn) and once at 70% HP, which is typically on or around the same turn that he puts his shield up. Players should expect to be hit with super-effective attacks for the entire raid, and to have a difficult time boosting their own stats.
Blaziken also has scripted use of Swords Dance and Bulk Up, both of which raise his Attack stat. Each time he uses those moves, his damage output will increase by 100% and 50%, respectively. The result of these boosts is that players will either succeed in lowering his Attack stat or be repeatedly wiped until the raid ends.
Oh, and random crits are also a thing. You can’t plan for those, so it does come down to having not-terrible RNG.
How to Win – The Loadout
Please reference this Serebii link and the Bellibolt section in this list of Tera raid builds. You’ll need to create a Bellibolt build with a similar strategy to the one in the list of Tera raid builds, but with a minor difference.
Your Bellibolt will be:
Bellibolt @ Metronome
Ability: Electromorphosis
Tera Type: Electric or Stellar
EVs: 252 Sp. Atk/252 Def/ 4 HP
Nature: Brave
Moveset:
- Acid Spray
- Parabolic Charge
- Electric Terrain
- Chilling Water
Notice the presence of Chilling Water instead of Charge. Chilling Water reduces the opponent’s Attack stat, and reduces the stat even when a Tera Shield is up. The first successful Chilling Water reduces the power of Blaziken’s Earthquake by 33%. The second reduces it to half of what it was originally.
Now that we have a counter to Blaziken’s physical attacks, here’s the strategy.

How to Win – The Game Plan
NPCs sometimes bring Pokemon that are especially helpful. Of the 20 NPCs, 3 of them can bring a Pokemon that passively has the Intimidate ability. Those Pokemon are Staraptor, Paldean Tauros and Arcanine. Each time those Pokemon spawn and respawn into the raid, they’ll lower Blaziken’s physical attack stat. Reset the raid until you have at least one of these on your team. If you’re finding that you have the same raiders each time, move the date forward one day to reset the raiders.
On Turn 1, Blaziken will hit you before you can hit him. This hit is typically a physical attack (in my experience, it’s been Low Kick), but will not damage Bellibolt past half his health. Bellibolt hits Blaziken with Chilling Water.
On Turn 2, Blaziken will hit you again. Bellibolt uses Parabolic Charge to self-heal and avoid dying.
On Turn 3, Blaziken has likely been hit hard enough by the NPCs to put up his shield and wipe his own negative effects, so hit him with Chilling Water again. Blaziken will usually have used Swords Dance by this point, so he’ll probably have a 50% boost on his Earthquake that needs to be removed as fast as possible. Your Intimidate NPCs might have removed that for you, but don’t count on it.
During the mayhem of the mid-raid Tera Shield, don’t be afraid to put up a Defense Cheer! Defense Cheers boost either one or two Defense stages and last for 3 turns, so if you’re at full HP it can buy you some time to take down Blaziken’s Attack a bit further.
After Blaziken has put up his shield, it becomes a game of deciding when to self-heal and when to reduce his Attack stat*. If Blaziken’s Attack is at +0 or higher, hit him with Chilling Water. If it’s at -1 or lower, spam Parabolic Charge to continue to self-heal. There’s little that can wipe this raid for you save for a critical hit.
*If you’ve noticed that Blaziken tends to do, say, 80 damage per Earthquake and you have about 200 HP left over, then you can survive two more Earthquakes. In that instance, hit him with Chilling Water instead of self-healing. Keep track of how much damage he does per Earthquake and how many hits you can take.
Unlike most 7-star raids, it’s not a game-ender if you happen to die so long as you die when Blaziken has a -1 Attack stage or after his Tera Shield is broken. Continue to persist with Parabolic Charges and the proper cheers when necessary, and you’ll find yourself winning in no time!
