Cool Stuff in OkamiSwan’s Custom Amiibo Etsy Store

The amiibo community is a weird one because… there’s not really an amiibo community. Sure, you have the steaming pile that is /r/amiibo, and you have sub-communities like the amiibo training crowd, but I can’t point to a specific place and say “that’s where the amiibo community is”. Competitive Pokemon has Smogon. Speedrunning has at least one Discord or forum per game. Amiibo has nothing.

Still, one of the most prominent names you’ll see if you spend any time looking around the niches of amiibo is OkamiSwan, a longtime custom amiibo painter who makes, in my subjective opinion, objectively the coolest custom amiibo of all time. The creativity and quality of painting in these amiibo is honestly without comparison. I don’t know OkamiSwan, and this post isn’t sponsored nor is it being made with OkamiSwan’s knowledge, but I figure some free advertising is probably permissible. Still, Okami, if you’re reading this and want it removed, leave a comment.

Everything here is a screenshot taken from OkamiSwan’s store as it exists today. Stock changes occasionally, so if you see something you like, get to it quick!

The fact we never received a Fire Mario amiibo when 8… 9? variants eventually came out is astounding. It’s so obvious! Maybe the Mario Galaxy movie will bring us something like this.

I’m not the biggest Lucario fan out there but you have to admit that a Mega Lucario amiibo would be phenomenal.

Isabelle. Your girlfriend’s favorite video game character. My girlfriend doesn’t play video games, but I bet you dollars to donuts that if I showed her this she’d find it adorable. Frankly I’m considering buying it before anyone else does.

It’s so cool that Okami chose this color palette, as it looks like a ghost just ate a Power Pellet and now Pac-Man is in danger! Though I’m not sure that really changes anything, as he’s always in danger in the game… still, a great-looking amiibo.

There’s a few “starter trio” sets on the store right now and I want all of them. Do me a favor: if there’s ever a “shiny starter trio” set up on the store… leave it for me.

I think Okami’s a fantastic custom amiibo painter, and I hope this encourages you to go and buy something from there. Great stuff.
