I get asked periodically if there’s any functional difference between amiibo bin files and having the actual figures themselves. The short answer is no. However, one should be aware that the change in medium can have an impact on the storage of your amiibo training. Many times I have saved an amiibo to a Powertag and forgotten to make a file backup of the Powertag on my computer before wiping over that tag and losing the amiibo data forever.
