by Doc – Nothing Witty to Put in the Byline, Just Unbelievably Happy For Praktise
Nintendo had their Amiibo + Me tournament livestream just now, in front of 2500 livestream viewers and what looks to have been a packed house. We’ve never seen an official amiibo tournament from Nintendo before, especially not one that they’ve put money behind. The only thing close to this was the Amiibo Tag Team Tournament that reoccurs every year. So this is kind of a big, big deal.
Out of 64 entrants, the competitive amiibo trainer “Praktise” won the whole thing. Here’s what I’m most proud of: dude’s an Amiibo Doctor fan. And I’m now officially a Praktise fan!
Expect a video or two coming on this soon, hopefully with some comments from Praktise. Apparently, from what I was told in the stream live chat, I have another fan who fought in the tournament too! He went by the handle LB. If we’re lucky I’ll be able to get some behind-the-scenes stuff from the both of them, because there was some cool stuff that went down.

Overall, great tournament, but I gotta say, the worst part was that everybody was uninformed, including the commentators
“Kirbo is probably the best amiibo I’ve ever seen”
And I know this isn’t related to amiibo but when the Mishima Dojo came up
“Oh my god is that Castlevania?”

Yeah, it was pretty cool
Although to be fair I would be surprised if there’s an amiibo event as big as this and you didn’t show up lol

I legit didn’t think it was a big deal and scheduled a date for it. Then I saw 2500 live viewers and canceled my date to watch this.
Totally worth it

Yeah from the previous posts you made it didn’t seem like a huge deal but man it totally was
Hope she’s not too mad lol

I was expecting this to be a pretty low key affair ngl
Then I see it’s on a gigantic stage with commentators and I’m like dude… this is so worth a date.
She is but that’s okay – it wasn’t gonna work between us anyway

Pretty sure you mean “commentators”
The way they pick them must be by who has a good voice and a good* understanding of the game

Right? There’s not a lot of cameraworthy people who also have deep knowledge and can fit it to a casual audience

Well, maybe not “deep”
