As it would happen, that’s probably a thing. But it’s nowhere near what I anticipated.
As we’re finding out on the Youtube channel, amiibo can now counter reactively, which is something that they could never do before. This was possible in Smash 4, but the AI never carried over to Ultimate.
This is such a niche way to implement countering, but I have a feeling it’s not the only intended way that countering can be implemented. Over the next few days I’m going to be releasing footage of myself labbing out how amiibo counter. The video I linked above indicates that they can only counter in the air…? And that sometimes it’s predictive, while other times it’s reactive.
