“Adest omnis” is a Latin phrase that roughly translates to “holy cow dude, that’s a huge-ass amiibo tournament”. (Latin is a highly condensed language.) AO, hosted by Eon_II, recently closed amiibo submissions in the USAC Discord server and its final count is a tad over 3,200 amiibo entered. The first round of play contains over 16 independent challonge brackets alone. I can’t wait to see the final results for this bracket… when Halley’s Comet returns.
It’s not hard to see why the tournament got so many entries. Each trainer is allowed to submit 86 amiibo (one for each character) with no restrictions whatsoever, and with several dozen trainers being Discord-summoned out of retirement to enter there’s bound to be a pretty high number of entrants. I’d go so far as to say that this tournament might be the single best source of matchup data on the amiibo meta in recent memory – in full Smash Ultimate fashion, everyone is here. Incineroar is legal! Fox is legal! Everyone in between is legal! It’s quite the event.
I only submitted Protoman for lack of any recently trained amiibo, and used the exact same iteration of my amiibo that I’ve used since 2020. Here’s his first bracket appearance:

If you’d like to observe the tournament as it unfolds, join the USAC server and keep an eye on the #ranked-brackets channel for Eon’s updates. If you haven’t entered the tournament, you’re too late to participate – but you’re never too late to speculate on who wins!
Personally, my money is on a Kazuya taking home the trophy. I think Incineroars will be numerous at the top but will eventually run into their bad matchups (i.e. Mii Gunner) frequently enough to get knocked out. In a situation like this where you’re bound to encounter a vast variety of opponents, having one highly consistent Achilles’ heel is all it takes to prevent you from getting to the top, and Kazuya doesn’t have any matchups that are as bad as Mii Gunner is for Incineroar to the best of my knowledge.

So excited! Money is on a Mii gunner, due to Incinaror floods, but Kazuya is probably the right one to bet on.
