Breath of the Wild amiibo
The Wolf Link amiibo is one of the most popular amiibo in any category due to its usage in Breath of the Wild. If you play specific content Twilight Princess HD, you can create save data on your Wolf Link amiibo. The better your save data is, the more powerful your Wolf Link assistant will be in Breath of the Wild. That’s why, when googling “Wolf Link amiibo” you often have the additional search option “20 hearts” – because that’s the maximum health your Wolf Link assistant can have when scanned in.
Animal Crossing Wolf Link amiibo
In addition, if you play Animal Crossing: New Leaf, you can scan in your Wolf Link amiibo to unlock the Wolf Link villager. It’s… outrageously cute. His RV contains a lot of very cool Legend of Zelda items, and the villager itself is a nice change of pace to talk to, with a smug personality. I have him in my old town, actually.
Wolf Link amiibo functionality has been promised for New Horizons, but no announcement has been made at the time of this writing.
As is the norm for Breath of the Wild-compatible amiibo, Wolf Link scans in as Link. Shocker, I know.
Do remember that you can only have save data for one game at a time on your amiibo chip. If you train Wolf Link in Smash, you have to remove the Twilight Princess save data, and vice versa. Considering getting a Powersaves for Amiibo so you can save backups of the save data of your amiibo.
Why You Should Get One
I consider Wolf Link to be a great investment for any Nintendo fan because of the sheer number of games it’s compatible with. If you want to train a Link amiibo in Smash Ultimate, here’s your option. If you want something to use in Animal Crossing, here’s your option. If you want to use it in Breath of the Wild to help your friend, here’s your option. It’s a bit pricey, so you should opt for the amiibo card option, but it’s still a great purchase for both collectors and users.
